Many people confuse happiness with content, which is not a good habit to get into. We can be content with the way things are, thinking that this is the way it has to be and we are happy with that. However, if we pushed a little to make a shift there could be a shift in what we perceive to be "happiness".
For many of us, we are content with the way things are but always wondering what it would be like if we just had a little more of this or a little less of that. It is something we think about but do not really allow it to bother us to much. Pay more attention to these little thoughts that sneak up on you! You do not have to wonder what it could be like, because you have in you what it takes to make that possible!
These little thoughts do not appear to us as a big deal, however they would not keep sneaking back up on you if it was not something that you may be destined to follow through with. Whenever you find yourself thinking "what if", take a moment to write the thought following that statement down. You can then go through pros and cons of each thing you write down. This exercise will allow you to better analyze if you are happy or just content by your responses to the pros and cons.
This does not mean that you are unhappy if you are simply content with the way things are, it just allows you better insight to see if there are some shifts you can make that would allow you to be truly happy from within!
