2015- the year we stop making resolutions and start making progress!
January 6, 2015
Staying consistent with your Wellness routine is key to getting and maintaining the results you want. With my diverse background in the Wellness Industry, I have seen this truth in action in many ways. Whether it is a client who constantly yo-yo diets or someone who flops between Massage Therapy and pain killers- both individuals tend to take the same approach to their treatment plans.
Consistency is key to making gains and keeping them. Say you have severe shoulder pain, you get 3 massages in a row and it starts to feel better. Then, you do not come back in for another massage for 6+months, any benefits that you gained from the 3 treatments close together has probably been lost. You only got rid of whatever it was temporarily, a quick-fix. Chances are when it flares up again it is going to do so with a vengenence.
The time between massage (or diets, workout regiments, etc), is where you can really make the biggest gains. Instead of thinking just because you are feeling good that you do not need a massage, schedule one during that time to help prevent you from getting to that desperation point again. Another similar instance may be, how many times have you went on a diet, only to reach your "goal weight", and then eat like crazy putting all the weight back on in no time. These are different instances, but each person is taking the same approach to their treatment plan.
Lack of support, motivation and tools to keep you inspired can all play a huge role in the outcome of your goals. To help more people reach their goals and stick to their resolutions I created the Facebook group 365 Day Commitment to Health and Fitness (Click the link to Join). This group is a place where we can all motivate and inspire each other. Post your progress, favorite healthy recipes, workout routines, questions and more. This group is filled with like-minded individuals who care, and are all working towards a similar goal. Lets help each other make 2015 the happiest, healthiest year yet!
