We are a stressed out society. Did you know that stress is one of the leading causes for emergency room visits each year? I am sorry, but there is nothing your E.R. doctor can do to help you regain balance in your life. You have to regain control and balance in your life. Noone can do it for you.
Stress wreaks absolute havoc on our body. It can cause pain, inflammation, heart attacks, migraines, TMJ and have major impact on our moods. Here are 3 things that you can do to decrease stress in your life:
1) Get a Massage- The benefits of massage go far beyond the physical. They even go far beyond the length of your session. Massage helps to calm the central nervous system and helps your body to release feel good hormones. Aim for a massage at least once a month to combat stress, pain and fatigue.
2)Exercise- No matter what your exercise of choice is, get out there and MOVE IT! Working out increases circulation, oxygen flow to the brain and helps us to step out and clear our heads. Personally, I love yoga for this reason. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise a day (even if it is a walk with your children or friend). Keep your heart and your brain healthy!
3) Use essential oils- Smell is our most powerful sense. Your brain recognizes smell before it recognizes words. The moment you start to feel stressed or anxious apply Lavender, Balance, Serenity, Citrus Bliss or Frankincense to your pulse points and inhale the aroma deeply. Within seconds, the essential oils will get to work and help promote feelings of peace and relaxation. You can continue to use/apply as needed throughout the day.
Stop letting stress run your life. You have the ability to take control and to get your quality of life back! As always, if there is anything I can do to help you reach your goals- do not hesitate to reach out! Peace and Wellness~
